Statement of Priorities Announced
May 26, 2009The Board of Trustees of The Hubbell-Waterman Foundation, after assessing the severity of the economic downturn in the Quad Cities and in consultation with community social service providers, has determined that the funding priority for calendar year 2009 is to provide grants to assist those who are newly unemployed and in need of emergency assistance. In response to the need for such services, the Trustees have approved a grant of $250,000, payable in two installments in calendar year 2009 and in January 2010, to one or more regional organization(s) who undertake, on behalf of the Foundation, to coordinate the selection of grant recipients not receiving Federal stimulus dollars (unless used to leverage additional grants) to provide emergency services to those in need of food and shelter. The Hubbell-Waterman Foundation will issue a Request for Proposal to one or more regional service organizations. The Trustees will award the grant to the recipient based upon criteria contained in the RFP.
