The endowment and scope of the The Hubbell-Waterman Foundation has expanded over the years. In 2007, the number of trustees was expanded to include all of the founders' children. In December 2008, the trustees adopted a Mission Statement that focuses the Foundation’s giving in the Quad Cities. The Mission Statement emphasizes three areas of need to be funded on an annual basis: Culture and the Arts, Education (Pre-K to 12), and Social Welfare. In an effort to become more proactive each year the trustees, within the limits of the Mission Statement, will identify specific needs within the Quad Cities and encourage community providers to make grant applications that respond to those needs.
