Boys & Girls Club Service Project in Moline, IL

Mission Statement

The Hubbell-Waterman Foundation seeks to improve the quality of life for the citizens of the Quad Cities by financially supporting areas of need in culture and the arts, education and social welfare.

We define Quad Cities as the geographic area comprising Scott County, Iowa and Rock Island County, Illinois.

Vision Statement

Trustees of The Hubbell-Waterman Foundation have learned from our family members who have gone before us the rich rewards of philanthropy. We envision that the financial resources of the Foundation follow individual family members' efforts past and present to create educational opportunities for our youth, improve the quality of life for the citizens of our community, and encourage the construction and remodeling of the facilities that support our Mission Statement.

Values Statement

These values guide how we achieve our mission:

Our Commitment. We believe that:

  • Generosity is contagious and should be encouraged in others.
  • Philanthropy is a process grounded in continual learning.
  • Integrity, transparency, and accountability will guide our commitments.
  • By working collaboratively in partnerships with other exempt and governmental organizations we can better leverage our resources to benefit our community.
  • Being inclusive makes our community stronger by promoting better decision-making.
  • Being an environmentally sensitive foundation, the Web will be our preferred communication vehicle, thereby limiting the use of paper products.

Culture and the Arts. We believe in:

  • Supporting the visual and performing arts in the classroom.
  • Supporting the preservation and public presentation of culture and the arts that add knowledge and value to the lives of the citizens of our community.

Education. We believe in:

  • Creating educational opportunities during pre-kindergarten through grade twelve.
  • Promoting the effectiveness of teaching.
  • Strengthening before and after school and summer learning opportunities.
  • Involving parents in the schools.

Social Welfare. We believe in:

  • Supporting exempt organizations which promote self-sufficiency in their clients.
  • Supporting affordable housing opportunities for at-risk families and low income elderly, including programs that help achieve stability and self-sufficiency.
  • Supporting the delivery of affordable health and wellness services in our community.
